- Romantic Horse and Carriage Maui

- Recently
we performed a wedding at the Renaissance in Wailea for a fun couple.
This wedding was unique because the couple had us bring a large elegant
horse which huge hoofs and a white storybook style carriage to their
Maui wedding site. This carriage is usually only available on the west
side of the island, but the couple wanted to have it transported to
their Wailea wedding site.
"Surprise" Maui Wedding
Recently we performed another "surprise"
Maui wedding. We've had one groom and several brides who have not told
their fiance that they have planned a wedding until the last possible
moment. Usually, that's when the planner takes them to the Maui wedding
license official. (Unfortunately, you can't get married without a
license). These have been fun for us, knowing that one half of the couple
is going to be getting used to the idea that they are getting married that
day.
You might wonder how the "surprised"
person responds, and we can assure you that they have always been
delighted. Often they have been asking the other partner for some time to
tie the knot, and so the surprise is really an answer to their long
pent-up feelings.
"Surprise" Maui Vow Renewal
We have done these much more often,
because you don't need a license. An unsuspecting wife can be told to
dress up for some photography at the beach or a dinner on the beach and
end up meeting the minister and photographer AND our dinner on the beach
chef. These wives (and husbands) are pleasantly surprised.
We have another of these coming up next
week for a couple who has been married 50 years. The kids are putting it
all together for them.
- Finding Your Long Lost Love
We've done several weddings for couples
who were high school sweethearts and then broke up and went their separate
ways. One couple I remember, from Seattle, had been boyfriend and
girlfriend at 14. She broke up with him (and regretted it for the rest of
her life), silently watching him from a distance, too shy to tell him how
she really felt. At the same time, he always secretly still loved her too.
But they went their separate ways; he moved to Chicago, I think. He got
married, but it didn't work out. After about 15 years, he was back in town
and went by her old house. A real estate agent was finishing up the sale
of the place and said that she had just been there two hours earlier with
her parents. They were moving out of town. But no matter what he did, he
couldn't figure out how to track her down.
So another ten years went by! And a company who
was doing his twenty-fifth high school reunion contacted him. The girl had
gone to a different high school and he e-mailed the reunion company,
asking if they had her phone number and address. They said they did, but
couldn't give it out. But they did give him her e-mail.
He immediately e-mailed her. She responded immediately
and they met that night. Four months later, they walked onto the sand to
do their own romantic Maui beach wedding! You couldn't believe the glow of
these two. They were just so right for each other; its too bad it took
them so long to connect.
